Great Stroke: Flores Gets 5 Hits

It was a magical day at the plate for Okanagan Lake Monsters left fielder Alex Flores. The 24-year-old Flores helped lift Okanagan to a win, 14-11, over the St. Petersburg Pelicans at Elks Stadium. Flores smacked 5 hits in 5 at-bats to spark his club.
Alex Flores singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Carlos Asencio in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Jorge Adame in the 6th and singled in the 7th.
Flores currently has a .379 batting average with 67 hits, 11 homers, 34 RBIs, 36 runs scored and a .474 OBP.

Year Over for Civics Sevilla

The season is apparently over for Omar Sevilla. The Ottawa Civics medical staff informed the club that the starting pitcher will be out at least 7-8 months with shoulder inflammation. Sevilla was hurt in the game against Houston while throwing a pitch. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.
This year, Sevilla has fashioned a 3-0 mark, 3.43 ERA and pitched 21 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .304 against him and he has logged 15 strikeouts.

Ungvarsky Whiffs 17, Moonbeam Tops Oconomowoc
Tuesday, June 10th , 2064
Led by an outstanding performance from starter Jason Ungvarsky, the Moonbeam Martians topped the Oconomowoc Five O's by a score of 8-0 at Arnold Field. The 22-year-old Ungvarsky brought his top game to the mound, striking out 17 batters while allowing 2 hits and giving up 6 walks.
"He made a lot of good pitches out there," Five O's manager Jorge Murillo said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes."
In 6 starts this year, Ungvarsky has crafted a 4-0 record and a 0.75 ERA.
