Both teams had their chances, but the Okanagan Lake Monsters eventually prevailed.

Okanagan starter Mike Diaz pitched well against the Ocala Knights at Elks Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. The winner was Diaz. He threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Hector Flores. Ray Goulding was credited with the save for Okanagan, his 23rd of the season.

Mario Figueroa had a big run-scoring double for the Lake Monsters in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Okanagan leading 4-1 and a runner on 3rd, he got a changeup from Hector Flores, who is tied for 9th in the TA in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lake Monsters ahead, 5-1.

"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Diaz.

After today's action, Okanagan sits at 68-37, while Ocala falls to 64-41.
