The Eureka Hornets picked up a win at The Nest, knocking off the Havana Stogies, 6-4. On the mound for Eureka was left-hander Justin Soule. He played a key role in the triumph. In 6 innings, Soule surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. Matt Acrey earned the save for Eureka, his 2nd.

An inflection point occurred with two out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Hornets center fielder Josh Sweet hit a changeup from Pat Tracy for a 2-run single. Just like that, Eureka was up, 4-3.

"There's so many different ways you can win a game," said winning manager Juan Montés.

The win takes Eureka to 12-14.
