5-Hit Barrage by Swierczynski Sunday, October 5th , 2064 Joel Swierczynski of the Syracuse Orange Sox had a big day with the bat at Rangers Field as he bashed out hit after hit after hit against the Carrollton Rangers. Nevertheless, his big day at the plate couldn't secure the win for the Orange Sox, who fell, 11-9. "Guys, it's just one game in a long season -- I hit it hard and found some holes, and bingo, 5 hits in 6 at-bats," a visibly unhappy Swierczynski said later. "They don't really mean anything at this point." At the end of the day, Swierczynski had collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats and a small mention in the record book, but it was the final score that was on his mind. Joel Swierczynski singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
