Montreal Tops Scottsdale Saturday, October 6th , 2063 The Montreal Cardinals pulled out all the stops tonight, winning the Rookie League Championship in a hard-fought series with the Scottsdale Scorpions. It was a seesaw affair, but with a 6-4 victory at Denis Coderre Stadium, Montreal lay claim to the franchise's 1st championship. "There's no denying we faced a tough opponent," said Chris Neal. "But as the old saying goes, 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going,' and that's what we did today." The champs finished the regular season 64-24 and claimed first place in the TML R Otto Velez Division. A victory parade is set to be scheduled in Montreal in the days to come.
