LaBorde Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
Monday, April 10th , 2062
It was a good day at Ballpark of Riverdale College. The Florida State Seminoles whipped the South Illinois Salukis, 22-4, and first baseman Jared LaBorde showed off a hot bat, going 5-for-7 at the plate.
"Some days, lady luck is on your side," LaBorde told BNN reporters after the game.
Seminoles manager Mike Conard told the beat writers otherwise, calling the 21-year-old "focused and patient."
"It's not luck," he said. "He has a solid approach to hitting. Jared hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have."
Jared LaBorde doubled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Pete Anspach in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Andrew Parks in the 8th.
In this current campaign LaBorde is hitting at a .348 clip with 8 home runs and 24 RBIs.
