Rockville Breaks Through for First Win in Divisional Series; Now Trails 2-1
The Rockville Rangers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Frobisher Bay Caribou, winning, 5-4, at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium. Rangers right-hander Mike Davis threw 5.2 innings allowing 1 run. The win cuts the deficit facing the Rangers to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

In the bottom of the third, Rockville third baseman Alex Valdez had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and two out, Valdez stroked a 2-run triple to right-center. It made the score 3-1, Rockville. For the game, he was 1-4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs.

"Mike pitched his heart out," said Rockville manager Bill Gallagher.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium in Rockville.
