5-for-5 Game for Saylor
Wednesday, May 7th , 2064
After a 5-hit effort to lead Nichols's 9-3 victory over the San Angelo Mustangs, right fielder Ben Saylor told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the HIGH SINGLE A-level is really something special."

The 20-year-old player earned his accolades at The Pond with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Mustangs.

"His swing is getting there," said Gnats skipper Mike Nevil, who spoke glowingly of Saylor after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ben did that to perfection."

Ben Saylor singled in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Tony Rentas in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

This season, Saylor is batting .240 with 8 RBIs, 16 runs scored and 3 home runs.
