The St. Paul Saints topped the Ottawa Civics, 7-5, at Saints Ballpark. St. Paul right fielder Butch Beckman was a spark plug for the offense. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The win moves St. Paul to a record of 8-16.

In the bottom of the ninth, with the score tied, Beckman hammered a 2-run home run to win it for St. Paul.

"I'm glad I got one I could handle. Glad I got the barrel on it," said Beckman.
