Stoecklin Named 2060 TAA Most Valuable Player Award Winner

John Stoecklin took DOUBLE A by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 20.

For his spectacular campaign, the Clearwater Seagulls star has been named the 2060 TML AA Most Valuable Player Award recipient.

"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the catcher.

On the season he compiled a .316 batting average to go with a .406 on-base percentage. The native of Monterey Park, California also added 29 doubles, 2 triples, 33 home runs, 90 RBIs and 97 runs scored.

He received 16 first place votes out of a possible 28. Eddie Pupillo of the Clearwater Seagulls finished second in voting with 11 first place votes, while Mike Williams of the Wauwatosa Indians finished third.

The manager of the Beaumont Drillers said he thinks Marvin Diaz is only going to get better as he gets older.

He may only be 24, but it will be hard to top the catcher's 2060 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the RCL AA Most Valuable Player Award.

His winning campaign featured a .293 batting average and a .369 on-base percentage this year. In 126 games he piled up 141 hits, 23 doubles, no triples, 39 home runs, 109 RBIs and 82 runs scored.

He received 10 first place votes out of a possible 28. Pablo Cordova of the Moose Jaw Canucks finished second in voting with 10 first place votes, while Elijah Gourdine of the Silicon Valley Hackers finished third with 6 first place votes.

Clearwater's Wilder Gets Cy Young Award

John Wilder of the Clearwater Seagulls had a tremendous season and was chosen the Cy Young Award winner in the TML AA.

He crafted a standout 20-6 mark in 32 starts, striking out 190, while walking 66. He worked 246.2 innings, yielded 192 hits and posted a 3.25 ERA. Opposing clubs had a .216 average against him.

He received 27 first place votes out of a possible 28. Terrence Sepkiechler Jr. of the Carson City Mustang finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Chris Courtney of the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters finished third.
