Great Stroke: Dunlap Gets 5 Hits
Friday, October 3rd , 2064
Even as a kid, Bill Dunlap said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Ram Brewery Ballpark, Dunlap showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 19-year-old first baseman had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Bighorn Bison, helping his team knock off the Hawaii Honu by a score of 17-9.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."
Bill Dunlap hit a two-run double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Carlos Avila in the 4th, walked in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Hitting .328 to date, Dunlap has 28 home runs and 117 RBIs. He has played in 153 games.
