George on Fire, 5-for-5 Against Vancouver
Tuesday, May 27th , 2064
The Vancouver Pioneers downed the Hawaii Honu, 5-4, at "The Fort" at B.C. Place, in spite of the best efforts of Hawaii first baseman Tommy George. George lashed the ball all over the park in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with a 5-for-5 line -- and a loss.
"I don't remember a better day batting, but it sure is disappointing to lose the game," he said to BNN reporters in the postgame interview. "A win would have made the day much sweeter."
Asked if he would adjust his strategy next time the Pioneers face George, Vancouver manager Naofumi Tanaka said "absolutely not."
"Our strategy was to not give him good pitches to hit," he said. "We didn't do that, and he worked us over. Thankfully, we won anyway, and next time we'll pitch to him better."
Tommy George hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
George is currently hitting at a .297 pace with 4 home runs and 30 RBIs. He has played in 36 games and scored 17 times.
