The Santa Clara-Billings West matchup turned into a slugfest.

The Santa Clara Vampires defeated the Billings West Golden Bears, 15-11, in part because of first baseman Jeremy Owusu. Owusu hit 3 home runs. He scored 4 times and drove in 5 for the Vampires. Santa Clara reliever Tony Dozier was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was David Lewis.

With Santa Clara leading 7-0 in the bottom of the third, Owusu came up to bat against Billings West pitcher David Courser. Owusu hit a curveball to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 18th home run of the season put the Vampires on top, 10-0.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Andy Jones said.

The win hiked the Santa Clara record to 19-19.
