Warhorses Win, 7-5, Versus Titans
|
Getting offensive support from Danny Bailor, the Barnwell Warhorses topped the Carl Albert Titans, 7-5. Bailor was 2 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Warhorses. Karl Molnar recorded the save, his 5th. Barnwell, at 18-14, occupies second place in the Hank Aaron Little League Willie Mays Division.
Barnwell needed the clutch hitting of Cory Mair to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Warhorses on top, 6-5. For the game, Mair had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Whenever I help the team," said Mair, "it sort of justifies my place on the roster."
