Win Goes to Mounties in Tight Contest
The Montreal Mounties dealt the Eureka Hornets a 5-3 loss at Mount Royal Grounds. Chris Romanko was the star on offense. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Rob Schuss claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 3-0. The save went to Jim LeMay, his 14th this season.

Romanko had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count slider from Dan Burk, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Mounties a 5-3 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Romanko.

Montreal manager Julián Martínez said his team played a "no nonsense" game.

With the win over Eureka, the Mounties improved to 36-26.
