Tornadoes Beaten By Marauders, 5-3
|
Marauders right fielder Kevin Spottswood left his imprint on his team's 5-3 win over the Kansas City Tornadoes. Spottswood went 3-4 with 3 singles for Maple in the contest. Josh Wahl was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Simon Slama. After today's action, Maple sits at 30-39, while Kansas City falls to 27-43.
Chris Black had a big bases-clearing triple for the Marauders in the bottom of the second inning. With Maple leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from two-time All-Star Simon Slama and swatted a triple to center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Marauders ahead, 4-0.
"Our offense was purring," said Maple manager Yen-nien Zhou. "Like a well-oiled machine."
