The Carmel Apples knotted up the Single A League Championship at BLM Stadium, thanks in large part to designated hitter Isaac Parker. Parker went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once as he overpowered the Oconomowoc Five O's, enabling Carmel to grab the 9-8 win and move into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Parker delivered big-time for Carmel, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Andres de Jesus. The game-changing hit put the Apples on top, 9-8.

Parker said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."

The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 8th , 2063 at Arnold Field in Oconomowoc.
