Rock River right fielder Elias Spaans was the difference-maker for the Rats in what turned into a shootout with the Boston Whitecaps. Spaans earned accolades after going 1-for-1 in the 9-4 Rats win. With the victory, the Rats moved into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.

Rock River took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 4-4, when Bob Lacombe hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Rats in front, 5-4.

"It feels good to get this one," Lacombe told the Rock River Daily.
