Dallas Triumphs with Late Surge
The 9-7 Dallas win over Montreal was due largely to Miguel Portugal. The Texans right fielder went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. The winner was Dallas reliever Mike Boyle, now 3-5. The loser was Ernesto Herrera. Ruben Rosado was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 16 of 17 save opportunities.

Dallas used a timely hit from Cody Hoben to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Texans ahead, 9-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"They played a better game than we did," said Montreal skipper Pedro Gonzáles.

The Texans now own a record of 32-28.
