Behind a fine performance from Travis Wharton, the Seattle Sasquatch knocked off the Montreal Jazz, 6-3. Wharton was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Sasquatch. Zachary Fakihi notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Joe Grimm picked up the save, his 3rd.
With Seattle leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Wharton hit a fastball from Roberto Vallejos for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Sasquatch ahead, 5-1.
Seattle manager Alim bin Umar was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
Seattle's record now stands at 27-31, placing them 4th in the Roberto Clemente League Mike Brouillette Division.
