Panthers Win at Chippewa, 7-5 | The Charleston Panthers trumped the Chippewa River Chiefs, 7-5, at The Reservation. Charleston first baseman Scott Tuff was named player of the game for his performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Rich Neilson picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Ricardo Rivera took the loss. Greg Rattray got the save, his 21st in 25 chances.
Tuff had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 2-1 slider from Chris Terry, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Panthers a 6-4 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Tuff.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Tuff.
The Panthers bumped their record to 89-63 with this latest triumph.
