Bel Air Beats Ottawa, 5-3
|
The Bel Air Princes besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Ottawa first baseman Jerry Paddack by beating the Civics, 5-3, at Philip Banks Field. Paddack was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Princes win now puts them at 71-57.
The Princes got a big at-bat from center fielder Jose Calderon. For the game, Calderon was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Bel Air a 4-2 lead.
Calderon called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
