2063 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the St. Petersburg Pelicans.

Eugene first baseman Jamie Salerno played a vital role in his team's 11-5 conquest of St. Petersburg. He was 1 for 1 with 3 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Eugene. The 4th-place Emeralds improved to 62-60.

Mike Hagin had a big 2-run double for the Emeralds in the top of the first inning. With Eugene leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Carlos Moreno and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Emeralds ahead, 4-0.
