The Dallas Texans handed the Maple Marauders a 5-4 defeat at Magnificent Marauders Mansion. Catcher Greg Shelton starred for Dallas. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Cameron Mutton, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-3. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 10 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Chris Nugent recorded his 10th save for Dallas.
In the top of the fifth, Dallas right fielder Jose Vega had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out, Vega stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 3-2, Dallas. For the game, he went 3-4 with 3 singles.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Shelton said.
The losing streak for Maple has now reached 4 games.
