Warriors Best Sasquatch in Pitching Duel
The Walnut Creek Warriors and Seattle Sasquatch played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.

The Walnut Creek Warriors earned a close win over the Seattle Sasquatch, thanks in part to David Godinez. The Walnut Creek right-hander, who finished 5th in the RCL in strikeouts with 156 last year, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. The winner in relief was Darren Rogers. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Patrick Greathouse, who is a two-time All-Star, earned the save for Walnut Creek.

The Warriors got a big at-bat from right fielder Dan Edwards. For the game, Edwards went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Walnut Creek a 2-1 lead.

"Runs were at a premium," said Walnut Creek manager Miguel de la Rosa.

The Warriors, now 4-2, have been playing some good baseball.
