| Sting Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras | The San Angelo Mustangs got a superb performance from pitcher John Hensley. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Houston. The Sting won the game, 4-2. In spite of the loss, Hensley was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Ricardo Jarquin got credit for the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. The Sting bumped their record to 65-65 with this latest triumph.
The Sting got a big at-bat from designated hitter Seiichiro Kanamori. For the game, Kanamori went 1-5 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the tenth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Houston a 4-2 lead.
"It was a solid team effort," said Kanamori after the game.
