The Montreal Jazz defeated the Quebec Armada, 7-4, in part because of designated hitter Joaquin Lagos. Lagos went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs for the Jazz. John Vickery notched his 1st save of the season. At 26-27, the Jazz find themselves in 4th place in the Thurman Munson League Tim Ervin Division.

Joel Lofink came through with a big-time hit for Montreal. The third baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 7-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"If it's down the middle," said Lagos, "you might as well hit it."
