| Victory Pushes Hornets Record to 71-54 | The Bethesda Hornets topped the Bel Air Princes, 7-5, with shortstop Guillermo Mayen playing a big role. Mayen went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Hornets in the win. Mike Marquez got the win, improving to 5-3. He held the Princes to 4 earned runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 5. Bethesda goes to 71-54. The win puts them 5½ games up in their division.
Mayen contributed a big hit, a 2-run single, for Bethesda in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Mayen took a curveball from Josh Bradshaw and stroked the single to left. His 67th hit of the season allowed the Hornets to leap in front, 2-1.
