Lake Monsters Lose, 2-0
|
The Charleston Panthers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Gene Aikman, who kept Okanagan hitters in check en route to a 2-0 Panthers win at Elks Stadium. Aikman, the winner, moves to 9-5. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 2 walks. Charleston is 41-61 and Okanagan, with the loss, 50-52.
Gray Altman had a direct impact on the outcome. Altman contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Charleston up, 2-0.
Altman said he "would like to have scored more runs for Johnson. But we'll gladly take this win."
