| Hornets Prevail, 2-1, Over Tree City | Bethesda beat Tree City on the strength of starter Jason Aves's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 2-1 win. Aves, the winner, moves to 8-9. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. Bethesda improves to 67-51 with the win. They lead their division by 3½ games.
The Hornets got a big at-bat from left fielder Steve Durrett. For the game, Durrett went 1-3 with a walk. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 57th hit of the season gave Bethesda a 2-1 lead.
