Chippewa beat Victoria at The drakkar, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder Kyle Pennington. He was 2 for 3 with a double and 3 walks. Roberto Reyes, now 3-2, was credited with the win in 1.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Chippewa has now won 5 games in a row.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Mike Devine? The Chippewa second baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the River Chiefs on top, 6-4. For the game, Devine had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
