Brownsville Beaten, 5-2, by Hazleton

The Hazleton Birdwings faced a tough opponent in Brownsville pitcher Esteban Altamirano, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Bandits Grove by a final score of 5-2. Altamirano went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Dave Mayo picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-9. Edwin Diaz was tagged with the loss. Earning his 10th save for Hazleton was Omar Sanabria.
Harrison Edwards came through with a big-time hit for Hazleton. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Edwards.
At 51-61, the Birdwings are currently 5th in the RCL HA Tommy Lasorda Division.
