Blues Lose Late, 8-6
|
Memphis second baseman Earl Chapman pounded San Antonio River Bandits pitchers at Dr Pepper Stadium, but it was not enough to keep the Blues from falling, 8-6. Chapman hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. San Antonio reliever Justin Walsh was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Chris Maxson. San Antonio has a record of 52-41, placing them third in the RCL A Tommy Lasorda Division.
Mark LeJeune aided the San Antonio cause with a bases-clearing triple in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder was 1-4 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI.
"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the River Bandits," said LeJeune.
