Knights Get Road Win, 4-3
|
Kingwood beat Bel Air at Philip Banks Field, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Colin Bieri, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. Steve Young got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 4.1 innings. The Knights raised their record to 48-53.
A key at-bat came in the top of the fifth inning. With a runner on 2nd, the batter, Willie Avila, hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 3-2, Kingwood, and helped them go on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Kingwood manager Todd Belcher.
