Sting Stymie Eugene, Take 2-0 Win
|
Jorge Vasquez pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Eugene Emeralds, despite Vasquez's fine outing, dropped a 2-0 decision to the Houston Sting at Prefontaine Park. Houston reliever Steve Marshall got the win, raising his record to 6-2. Jorge Vasquez was tagged with the loss. Houston bumps their record to 39-54 with the win.
Houston designated hitter Steve Gallipeau helped his team take an early lead. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"It feels good to get this one," Gallipeau told the Houston Citizen.
