River Bandits Fall Short, 5-4, at Houston
|
In a tight contest at Woodland Park, the Houston Sting edged the San Antonio River Bandits by the score of 5-4. Houston left fielder David Alfaro, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. With the victory, the Sting record now stands at 36-53.
Alfaro had a big hit for Houston with two out in the bottom of the seventh. With Houston trailing 4-3, Alfaro hit a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Sting up, 5-4.
In postgame comments to the Houston Citizen, Alfaro said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
