San Angelo designated hitter Troy Powers had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-8, to Eugene at Prefontaine Park. Powers went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Emeralds move to 20-38 with the win, while the Mustangs drop to 8-51.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Eugene. That's when Mike Braden hit a solo home run off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Cesar Galan to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Braden said.
