Paddack scores 3 runs, Leads Civics to Win
The Ottawa Civics and St. Paul Saints completed their game despite the inclement weather.

Jerry Paddack helped his team muscle past the St. Paul Saints, 10-6. In the game, the Ottawa catcher went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Jon Merino claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 3 runs on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 1-0.

Ottawa used the timely hitting of Chris Taylor to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Civics on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

Civics manager Eduardo Rosário wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."

The 6th-place Civics bumped their record to 21-36.
