Rallying Texans Get 5-4 Win
The fans at Metroplex Park witnessed quite a game.

The Dallas Texans defeated the Manhattan Slice, 5-4, in 11 innings. Tony Curiel, who finished 4th in the RCL in RBI with 112 last year, played a big role. Curiel went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Texans in the win. Chris Nugent, now 6-1, was credited with the win in 3 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1.

The decisive blow was delivered by Justin Mays in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Manny Fajardo to win the game for Dallas. The home crowd went nuts.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Mays. "I like it."

With the win, the Texans have a record of 20-26.
