Civics Earn 3-2 Win Versus Panthers
The Ottawa Civics earned a win at Franklin Mountains Field, stopping the Charleston Panthers, 3-2. Starting pitcher George Main played a big role in his team's success. The win was credited to 24-year old right-handed pitcher Greg Pond in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Ricky Armijo took the loss. Picking up the save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Matt Daniello.

Ottawa needed the clutch hitting of Billy Soss to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Civics on top, 3-1. For the game, Soss had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Ottawa manager Eduardo Rosário.

After today's action, Ottawa sits at 33-22, while Charleston falls to 22-32.
