River Chiefs Win in Glorious Fashion
|
The Chippewa River Chiefs faced a tough opponent in Kingwood pitcher Adrian Bejar, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Reservation by a final score of 3-2. Bejar went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Chippewa reliever Gil Ruelas picked up the win to move to 1-2. Kyle Jackson suffered the loss. Chippewa occupies 4th place in the TMLA Dick Williams Division at 29-26.
Chippewa took a 3-2 lead on Jerry Glenn's 10th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Kingwood pitcher Kyle Jackson in the bottom of the tenth.
Afterward, River Chiefs manager Clayton O'Neil was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
