Ben Saylor was instrumental in his team's 9-4 triumph over the Houston Sting. The right fielder went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Nichols Gnats. The win went to Jose Aguillar in relief, making him now 4-1. Leo Sanchez took the loss for Houston. The Gnats are now 20-36.
With Nichols leading 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth, Saylor hit a sinker from Leo Sanchez for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Gnats ahead, 9-4.
Nichols manager Mike Nevil commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
