Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium was the site of a tense game between the San Angelo Mustangs and Hazleton Birdwings.

In a low-scoring contest between the Hazleton Birdwings and the San Angelo Mustangs, 20-year old left-handed pitcher Danny Gonzalez proved to be the difference. The Hazleton left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Birdwings win. Tony Sarabia earned the save, his 7th, for the Birdwings.

Hazleton used the hitting of Victor Aguirre to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Birdwings on top, 3-1. For the game, Aguirre had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

In postgame remarks, Gonzalez said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."

The Birdwings, at 24-31, have now won 4 straight.
