The Victoria Vikings topped the San Angelo Mustangs, 10-4, in TML HA action at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Victoria pitcher and Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, native Chris Cox. Cox, the winner, moves to 4-2. He threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 11 and giving up 4 walks. The Vikings move to 32-18 with the win, while the Mustangs drop to 11-39.

Gary Coffman came through with a big-time hit for Victoria. The pinch hitter smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 6-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

In comments to the Victoria Daily, Cox admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
