The Bighorn Bison downed the Hawaii Honu, 11-9, in 13 innings. Jay Starr led the way, going 4-for-6 for Bighorn. Bryan Cicerchia, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 1. The defeat makes Hawaii 22-25.

The decisive blow was delivered by Bob Ferreira in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a 2-run home run off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Barajas to win the game for Bighorn. The home crowd went nuts.

"This game had its share of tense moments," Starr said, postgame.
