In a low-scoring contest between the Hazleton Birdwings and the Houston Sting, Ken Evans was the X factor. The Hazleton left-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Houston is 12-16 after the loss.

The Sting had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Birdwings going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old second baseman Seth Olson came to the plate. Olson hit a run-scoring double on a 2-2 fastball from Houston hurler Nate Mitchell. It was Olson's 4th double of the year.

"Ken was locating, throwing all of his pitches," said Hazleton manager Roberto Flores. "He did a heck of a job."
