Victory Pushes Jedi Knights Record to 10-8
|
The New Orleans Jedi Knights picked up a win at The Republic, knocking off the Chippewa River Chiefs, 3-2. On the mound for New Orleans was left-hander Scott Heck, who played a pivotal role in the win. Sean Mapson was credited with the save for New Orleans, his 3rd of the season. The River Chiefs fall to 8-11 and continue their lackluster start in 2044.
Jerry Brisco provided some late-game heroics for New Orleans. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a solo home run. It came on a first pitch fastball from Javier Galvan and propelled New Orleans to a 3-2 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said New Orleans skipper Jake Tinker.
