Ocala Knights pitcher Scott Simpson was all business, helping his team muzzle the Nichols Gnats, 4-1. Simpson yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 10. His record improves to 2-0. John Cochrane earned the save, his 5th, for the Knights.
Jason Whimster, who is tied for 4th in the TA in doubles with 6, had a direct impact on the outcome. Whimster contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Ocala up, 3-0.
