Princes Bang Out 9-8 Win Versus San Antonio
|
With shortstop Keizoh Okazaki leading the charge, the Bel Air Princes defeated the San Antonio River Bandits, 9-8, at Dr Pepper Stadium. Okazaki, who is tied for 3rd in the RA with a .735 slugging percentage, was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. The River Bandits fall to 5-9 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2044 season.
In the top of the 9th, Bel Air took the lead on a 2-run double by Robby Boyer. At the time, the Princes were trailing 8-7, but Boyer's hit with two outs against San Antonio pitcher Joe Jahns put them in front, 9-8.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Okazaki said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
