Eugene Emeralds starter Victor Oceguera was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 13-3. Oceguera got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed 3 runs. The loss puts St. Petersburg at 1-8.

Ian Lamb had a big 2-run double for the Emeralds in the top of the first inning. With Eugene leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a knuckleball from 19-year old left-handed pitcher Alex Blanco and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Emeralds ahead, 3-0.

"Victor had good arm action, good stuff," said Eugene manager Kyung-chul Kim.
